Converter Dollies (or converter gear) come in two "flavors". Single axle and tandem axle. They accomplish the same feat, attaching multiple trailers.

The single axle dollies, weighing 2500-3000 lbs, are for PUP trailers. Most often two PUPs are connected but in some jurisdictions three PUPs can be traveling together.

Tandem dollies, which weigh around 6500 lbs (a medium size car weight), are required for two full trailers (48-53' most common) to be connected.

The connection process requires handling the dolly 3 times currently. A good driver, on a good day and good road surface can connect two trailers together in 15 minutes.

With the X-Press Converter Tool, every driver every day can connect in 7 minutes two trailers and in 15 minutes three trailers, handling the dolly once.
